Services
Everything your business needs to look the part online
Four services that work on their own and work better together. Take one, take all of them, or start with the one costing you the most right now.
Web design and development
Most business websites do not fail because they look wrong. They fail because they load slowly, read badly on a phone, bury the phone number, and give the visitor nothing obvious to do next. We build sites that fix those four things first, and look good doing it.
Before anything is designed we agree what the site is for. Is it there to make the phone ring, to take enquiries, to sell, or to prove the business is real to somebody checking you out before a meeting? That answer changes the structure, the wording and the calls to action, and it is far cheaper to settle before the build than after it.
Web Design in detailWhat you get
- A complete, responsive website built to the agreed page list
- Unique page titles and meta descriptions throughout
- Working enquiry forms with validation and a consent checkbox
- Cookie notice and privacy policy in place
- XML sitemap, robots file and redirects from your old URLs
- A short written handover covering how to request changes
Web application development
A website tells people about your business. A web application does work for it: takes bookings, tracks jobs, manages stock, replaces the spreadsheet three people are emailing back and forth. The difference matters because the second one has to be right rather than merely look right.
Most failed software projects did not fail in the code. They failed because nobody wrote down precisely what the thing was supposed to do, so it was discovered during the build, changed three times, and delivered late as something nobody quite wanted. Writing the specification first is unglamorous and it is where the money is saved.
Web App Development in detailWhat you get
- A written specification you approved before the build
- The working application, deployed and accessible
- Secure login with roles and permissions
- An admin interface for day-to-day changes
- Source code and accounts in your name
- Written handover covering hosting, support and how to request changes
Mobile app development
An app is a bigger commitment than a website and a much bigger one than most people expect. It has two platforms, two review processes, an update cycle, and users who keep the old version installed. It is worth doing when the thing genuinely needs to live on a phone — and worth talking you out of when a good mobile website would do the same job for a fraction of the cost.
This is the most useful thing we can tell you, and it costs us work to say it. An app has to be found in a store, installed, kept installed, and updated. That is a lot of friction for something a customer uses twice a year. If the requirement is 'people should be able to do this on their phone', a fast mobile website does it with none of that friction and none of the store fees.
Mobile App Development in detailWhat you get
- iOS and Android apps from one codebase
- A written specification you approved before the build
- Store listings, screenshots and privacy declarations
- Published under your own Apple and Google developer accounts
- Source code and accounts in your name
- A written handover covering releasing an update
WordPress design and development
WordPress runs a large share of the web for a good reason: you can edit your own content without ringing a developer. It also has a well-earned reputation for going wrong, and almost always for the same reasons — too many plugins, an abandoned theme, and nobody applying updates. Both halves of that are worth taking seriously.
A typical troubled WordPress site has thirty-odd plugins, several unmaintained, doing jobs that overlap. Each one is code from a stranger running with full access to your site, and each is a thing that can conflict, slow the site down, or stop working when PHP is upgraded. We have seen a live business site return a blank error on every page — the front end and the admin login both — because one old plugin was fatal on a new PHP version.
WordPress Development in detailWhat you get
- A WordPress site you can edit without breaking it
- A documented list of every plugin and why it is there
- Tested backups, and a restore that has actually been run
- Hosting, domain and admin accounts in your name
- A written update and maintenance plan
- Training on editing your own content
Search engine optimisation
SEO attracts more nonsense than any other part of this industry, largely because the results are slow and hard to attribute, which makes it easy to charge for activity rather than outcomes. The honest version is unglamorous: fix what is broken, answer the questions people are actually searching for, and measure it properly.
Nobody controls Google's results, the ranking systems change without notice, and the competitors you are measured against are changing too. So no honest provider guarantees position one — and if someone does, that alone tells you what the rest of the engagement will be like. What can be promised is the work, and that you will be able to see what it did.
SEO in detailWhat you get
- A written technical audit with prioritised fixes
- Analytics, Search Console and form tracking, verified working
- Keyword research tied to actual pages
- On-page optimisation across the priority pages
- Google Business Profile set up and verified
- Monthly plain-English reporting against a baseline
Digital marketing
Marketing spend goes wrong in a predictable way: money goes out, activity happens, and nobody can say which part of it produced an enquiry. We start from measurement, so that every month you can see what worked and stop paying for what did not.
The first job is almost always the boring one — making sure analytics, search console and form tracking are installed and actually recording. A surprising number of businesses have been paying for marketing for years with no reliable way of telling whether it worked. Until that is fixed, every other decision is guesswork.
Digital Marketing in detailWhat you get
- A written audit of your current search and social presence
- Analytics, Search Console and enquiry tracking installed and verified
- A prioritised action plan with a budget against each item
- Optimised page titles, descriptions and on-page content
- A content and posting schedule you can see in advance
- A monthly plain-English report with clear recommendations
Graphic design
Design work is worth very little if it only exists as a JPEG somebody emailed you. We produce artwork to a consistent standard and hand over the working files, so the next person who needs to change a phone number on a leaflet can do it without starting again.
Businesses rarely look unprofessional because of one bad design. They look unprofessional because the logo on the van does not match the one on the invoice, the website uses a different blue, and the leaflet uses whichever typeface was on the laptop that day. Fixing that costs less than most owners expect and changes how the business is perceived immediately.
Graphic Design in detailWhat you get
- Primary logo plus reversed, single-colour and square variations
- Vector source files and web-ready exports (SVG, PNG, PDF)
- A short written brand guideline document
- Print-ready artwork with correct bleed and colour profiles
- Correctly sized social media and profile artwork
- Editable templates for the documents you produce regularly
Video editing and production
Most business video is watched on a phone, at speed, with the sound off. Editing for that reality — captions burned in, the point made in the first few seconds, the right aspect ratio for the platform — matters more than any effect.
The same footage needs to be a different video on each platform. A vertical cut for stories and short-form feeds, a square or landscape cut for a timeline, a longer version for a website page where somebody has actively chosen to watch. Exporting one landscape file and posting it everywhere wastes most of the footage you paid for.
Video Editing in detailWhat you get
- A finished master edit at full quality
- Vertical, square and landscape cuts sized for each platform
- Burned-in captions plus a separate subtitle file
- Branded titles, lower thirds and an end card
- Designed thumbnail images
- Compressed web versions ready for upload
